The Package Travel Regulations allow holidaymakers who have travelled on package holidays to claim compensation directly from their tour operator if they become ill or sick on holiday and the hotel is at fault. The hotel may be at fault for serving inadequately cooked food or food that has not been prepared in a hygienic way. The hotel could also be fault if it has failed to keep the swimming pool clean and free from contamination.
